Lev6:~Restoring the Broken: God’s Call to Make Things Right / Restaurer ce qui est brisé: L’appel de Dieu à réparer ce qui est mal fait

📖 Leviticus 6:  Restoring the Broken: God’s Call to Make Things Right

"Forgiveness is not just vertical, it’s also horizontal."

Aim:

To emphasize the seriousness of sin against others, the need for restitution, and the importance of God’s holy instructions in daily living.

God’s Attributes in Leviticus 6:

  • 👑 Just – God ensures wrongs are corrected.

  • 💖 Restorative – He desires reconciliation, not just confession.

  • 🕊️ Merciful – Provides a way back even after deceit or misuse.

  • 💡 Precise – He gives clear commands on handling offerings and holiness.

Facts from Leviticus 6:

  1. The chapter addresses sins like stealing, cheating, and lying.

  2. Restitution must be made, including a 20% penalty.

  3. Burnt offerings were to remain on the altar throughout the night.

  4. The priest’s garments, ashes, and grain offerings had to follow exact procedures.

  5. Fire on the altar was to be kept burning continuously, never to go out.

🔁 The Three Ps in Leviticus 6:

  • Penalty – Sin carries a price, both spiritual and practical.

  • Peace – Restoration of relationships through restitution.

  • Purification – God instructs purification through proper offerings.

💡 Insights:

  • God values truth and restitution over mere ritual.

  • Holiness is detailed—it covers how we handle both people and offerings.

  • God sees private sins and expects public accountability.

  • True repentance must come with action.

🪞 Application:

God expects us to make amends when we wrong others—not just say "sorry." Are there people you need to repay, apologize to, or restore trust with?

Deed:

This week, take a bold step to reconcile with someone you may have wronged—whether through repayment, apology, or an act of kindness.

🙏Prayer:

Lord, teach me to walk in integrity. May I right my wrongs and live with a clear conscience before You and others. Help me value Your holiness in all areas of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
