 📖 Exodus 34: Covenant Renewed: Encountering God's Glory and Grace

"When God reveals Himself, He restores and transforms."

Aim: To show that God, though just, is merciful and faithful to renew relationship with His people after failure.

God’s Attributes in Exodus 34

  • Merciful and gracious

  • Slow to anger

  • Abounding in love and faithfulness

  • Forgiving, yet just

  • Covenant-keeping

Facts

  • God commands Moses to chisel new stone tablets after the previous ones were broken.

  • God reveals His name and nature to Moses (Exodus 34:6–7).

  • The covenant is renewed, with God emphasizing obedience and distinctiveness.

  • Moses' face shines after speaking with God.

Three Ps

  • Proclamation: God declares His name and character to Moses (v.6–7).

  • Presence: Moses spends 40 days and nights on the mountain with God (v.28–29).

  • Purity: God commands Israel to avoid idolatry and remain separate from pagan practices (v.12–16).

Prayer

Gracious Father, thank You for Your mercy and patience. I return to You in humility. Renew me by Your Spirit and help me reflect Your glory in all I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
