Exodus 6: Hope Renewed: God's Covenant with His People
“When discouragement speaks, God reminds us of His promises.”
Aim:
To grasp how God reassures His people of His faithfulness even in seasons of doubt and delay.
God’s Attributes:
Faithful – He remembers and honors His covenant.
Compassionate – He sees and hears the suffering of His people.
All-Powerful – He has the authority to deliver.
Facts:
God reaffirms His covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
He promises to deliver Israel from Egyptian bondage.
Moses struggles with discouragement and fear of rejection.
God reassures Moses of His unchanging plan.
Three Ps in Exodus 6:
Promises: "I will deliver you from bondage and bring you to the land I swore to give."
Principles: God's plans are not hindered by human doubts or obstacles.
Prophecies: God foretells Israel’s deliverance and possession of the Promised Land.
Insights:
God’s promises stand firm even when circumstances seem worse.
Discouragement can blind us to God’s active work.
God's timing and methods are perfect, even when they don't match our expectations.
Application:
When you feel disheartened, return to God’s promises in His Word.
Trust that delays are not denials; they are part of God's perfect plan.
Speak life and faith into situations that seem impossible.
Deed:
Write down three promises of God that encourage you today. Keep them visible this week as reminders of His faithfulness.
Prayer:
Lord, when I grow weary and discouraged, help me to remember Your faithfulness and trust Your promises. Strengthen my heart to stand firm in Your Word and not be moved by what I see. Amen.
