Genesis 28: Jacob’s Ladder: A Divine Encounter

“God’s presence is with us wherever we go.”

Aim:
To understand God’s faithfulness and assurance of His presence in our lives, just as He revealed Himself to Jacob in Bethel.

God’s Attributes:

  • Faithful – God keeps His promises.

  • Omnipresent – He is with us everywhere.

  • Gracious – He blesses us despite our failures.

Facts:

  1. Jacob, fleeing from Esau, encounters God in a dream at Bethel.

  2. He sees a ladder reaching heaven with angels ascending and descending.

  3. God reaffirms His covenant with Abraham through Jacob.

  4. Jacob responds with a vow to serve the Lord.

Insights:

  • God meets us in unexpected places.

  • His promises extend to future generations.

  • Even in our weakness, God’s plan unfolds.

Application:

  • Trust in God’s presence in all seasons of life.

  • Seek personal encounters with God through prayer.

  • Acknowledge Him as the source of every blessing.

Prayer:
